Video from First Aid Workshop (see post below and "Fliers and Handouts" above)

And, if that don't beat all, here is some video of the event. I was going to record all of it but my phone kept threatening and finally did run out of storage space. I'm sure you can approach him for an autograph before he becomes famous from this   (actually, he is a great and humble guy, and we appreciate him sharing his time and wisdom borne of experience):   https://rumble.com/v2b8byo-partial-first-aid-workshop-ryan-peterson-md.html

Hey District 10 Friends!

We hope y'all are having a good weekend...well, that you're at least able to stay warm and dry! We also hope you were able to address February's goal of updating your First Aid Kits. We had an excellent and informative First Aid Workshop on Wednesday. I will be sharing notes from it (that I took and that Dr. Peterson is reviewing as we speak...or as I type and you will read...). I was going to video the whole thing but my phone memory ran out of storage. I'll at least upload what I was able to get once I edit it. For March we are going to focus on a goal of gardening...something along the lines of getting set up to grow some of your own food, even if you only have a small amount of space. We don't get many comments here, but we'd really appreciate some input in the next week or so. Please message or text me if you have any tidbits of good gardening wisdom you've learned and would like to share (you can also email me at toddfurse@gmail.com with the subject li...

First Aid Workshop THIS WEDNESDAY!

Hello Folks! Don't forget the First Aid Workshop, instructed by Ryan Peterson, MD on Wed. Feb. 22nd, 6:30 p.m. at the church building at 1178 S 700 W, Hurricane (North Entrance). You know how, when it comes to emergency preparation, it's just hard to find the time and you say "Some day I'll learn more about first aid," or "Some day I'll update our first aid kit," (see the goal and information in the February newsletter below.) Well, this just might be the 'some day' you will be thankful you took advantage of. Please comment on this post if you are coming so it will help us know how many refreshments to have ready. We hope to see you there!

DISTRICT 10 Preparedness Newsletter - February 2023

Hello Members of District 10! We hope you had a good experience learning or re-learning about baking bread for last month's goal (scroll down). If you have experiences or feedback you want to share about that, feel free to add to the comments below! Below is our latest Preparedness Letter. As mentioned before, from January on out, in each newsletter we are going to have one main focus on something to help us all be more capable, including something to learn or practice. We will also post some storage goals related to that focus. If you have experience in that area that would be good to pass on, please comment below! And don't forget to check out the February Back to Basics Newsletter below. Thank You! New Back to Basics Newsletters (good info!)

Happy Presidents' Day everyone...and Happy Valentine's Day as well. The February Back to Basics Newsletter has been published and added in the "Back to Basics Newsletters" above. As usual, it has a lot of good information ( Jarolyn Ballard Stout does a GREAT job with these), including some questions to ask yourself about your family's level of preparedness, a list of equipment to have on hand, some good info on cooking and canning with your food storage, and great pointers for the upcoming gardening season. I also wanted to mention that if you have fruit trees and haven't pruned them yet, January's Back to Basics has an informative discussion on that. Just click on the links.
