Heads Up!

I don't know how to spell "Strayte of Hormooz" or "inflayshun" very well, but, as your funds allow, I'd keep your gas tanks topped off, stock up on canned goods (nutrient-rich like kidney beans) and other necessities and maybe order the next oil and filter for your car (Amsoil, of course). CASE LOT SALES and How To Make Them Work For You!

It’s a great time to stock up on canned and other packaged foods that your family will eat since it’s CASE LOT SALE time. Prices are reduced and bulk quantities are available. YOU might not think it’s worthwhile or important to take advantage of them in your busy life, but there are SO MANY ways a temporary or long-term shortage can be created. I was shopping yesterday and in less than ten minutes added 4 cases of food to my cart. It took about that much time to date them and put them on the shelf. Most all of us would rather be the ones able to help our neighbors in a shortage scenario, but if we can’t even feed our kids, we will add to the burden of others instead. Here is a great video on a few kinds of food that will help your family most in an emergency, as well as how to store them so they’ll still be good when you need them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lSGdCAUCObk Last, but still very important, is the idea of ROTATION. Kanban is a system used in industry that keeps inventor...

Remember to see the Back to Basics Newsletter page

Well, it's pretty much a fact that an early Spring is upon us. And with that, new challenges in the world are added that bring the necessity of various kinds of preparedness to a new level of consciousness in the mind of those who think beyond the next bit of entertainment (not to be sardonic). This month's Back to Basics Newsletter will help you bring that awareness from the back of your mind into application. Thank you again, Jarolyn Ballard Stout for the reminders and pointers. Considering Possible Secondary Results of Recent Events...

In light of recent events concerning Iran, a recent Provident Prepper action plan for an Iran conflict focuses on mitigating risks from potential cyberattacks on infrastructure, soaring energy costs, and global supply chain disruptions. Key actions include accelerating long-term food/water storage, securing alternative power sources (solar/generators), diversifying financial assets, and developing home security plans to handle potential regional instability. Key Action Plan Components: • Secure Utilities and Infrastructure: Prepare for potential cyber-attacks on power grids, water, and communication systems. Have backup water purification, off-grid power, and secure, non-digital, off-grid storage for essential documents. • Strengthen Food and Supply Chain Resilience: Given the risk of conflict in the Middle East impacting shipping, especially through the Strait of Hormuz, ensure you have a 3–6 month supply of food, water, and medication. • Financial Preparedness: Prepare for eco...

Another Aspect of Preparedness

There are spiritual aspects of preparedness which apply to members of any denomination. Neil A. Anderson recently published the following.  "Two weeks ago, President Dallin H. Oaks repeated the warning issued by President Russell M. Nelson from general conference in April 2018: “ 'In coming days, it will not be possible to survive spiritually without the guiding, directing, comforting, and constant influence of the Holy Ghost.' "So, what do you do to rivet your attention, to assure that you survive spiritually by having the constant influence of the Holy Ghost? "You look carefully at your daily activities. Am I praying? Am I thoughtfully partaking of the sacrament? What am I putting into my mind? Am I associating with others who seek the constant influence of the Holy Ghost? What could be my distractions, my obstacles, or my deceptions? You pray for inspiration and courage to make any changes you need to make. "Let us be true disciples of Jesus Christ. The R...
