THINK IT THROUGH...
I've posted about this before. The purpose of this is to get viewers to notice that just because a food storage/emergency preparedness company advertises a TON on the radio or wherever, does NOT mean they carry the best product for your money or that one simple purchase will take care of all of your preparedness needs. When you see something advertised in these genres (or any other, for that matter), always do some RESEARCH before you buy. Those who design ads are very good at what they do, including convincing you that you need something when you really don't, or that the company that is paying them lots of bucks carries the only legitimate product they are blabbing in your face (or ears) about. We have learned that by using some analytical thinking we can avoid throwing a lot of money away. FOR INSTANCE...there are food storage companies whose ads suggest that when you buy a few buckets of their stuff, your worries are over for the coming "apocalypse". Well, it's not that simple...even if they have a patriotic name, were started by a veteran, and offer a great deal if you buy RIGHT NOW for what's just around the corner. If you have done your research and have come to the conclusion (which we have) that there are definitely plausible "apocalyptic" scenarios on our horizon (but you need to figure that out for yourselves...more on this later), THEN you need to decide what you and your family will actually need (hence this whole facebook page) and what you can afford. You also need to consider many other supplies and SKILLS needed to carry your family through such times, INCLUDING the skills of working together as a community and as neighbors! Buying a few buckets of prepared food storage does NOT mean you have really secured your family's future. Having said all that, IF I were to buy a product where lots of dehydrated food came in buckets for easy storage, I would definitely look around at other possibilities, such as Valley Foods: https://valleyfoodstorage.com/, or those advertised by Emergency Essentials: https://www.beprepared.com/collections/quality-survival-standards-certified-products or (not so much buckets) YFSM: https://bereadyfoods.com/ or several other places on the web. Look at the ingredients, protein contents vs. cheap carbs, reviews, shelf life, etc. Then see which fits in your budget and get what you can as you balance other needs, such as water storage (unless you like crunching freeze-dried food and swallowing it dry), first aid supplies, cooking and heating supplies, shelter, protection and so on. Don't fall into the trap of buying one popular product and patting yourself on the back for becoming "prepared". Thanks for your time.
